Pfeifer & Langen KG, the German producer and retailer of sugar products, has acquired a 50% stake not already owned in, Zaharul Oradea SA, the Romania based sugar factory, from Cristal Union SCA, the France based producer of sugar and, alcohol and ethanol products, for an undisclosed consideration.
Zaharul Oradea generated turnover of EUR 50m for the year ended 2008. The acquisition is in line with Pfeifer & Langen’s strategy of consolidating its position in the Eastern Europe market.
